The rotational action has diminished, and that is producing very broad buying and some good stock-picking. Breadth is running almost 4 to 1 positive, and the number of new 12-month highs is approaching 1,000.
What is most notable about the action Thursday is that the stock-picking is similar to what we had three weeks ago when small traders were chasing speculative small-caps. The Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) is leading the charge and is at a new all-time high, and this time the Nasdaq 100 ETF (QQQ) is keeping pace with a 2% jump as well.
Here s an Effective Way to Trade or Invest in DocuSign I like the business and it s potential to at least hang on to some of the progress made during the pandemic. Stocks quotes in this article: DOCU
Remember DocuSign (DOCU) ? The name was an original member of the pandemic portfolio that I drew up for readers about a year ago. The name indeed did work its magic on at least my own portfolio for most of 2020 s increase in share price. I am now flat that name and have watched as the shares had started to move sideways as early as last summer. and as with much of what we call growth have moved toward the bottom of six month trading ranges of late. Time to re-engage? As I have been the one adding on nearly every tech dip over the past week and a half, I have waited with open arms for this one to show up again in my wheelhouse.
Treasuries Close Roughly Flat Following Choppy Trading Day
WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Treasuries showed a lack of direction over the course of the trading day on Thursday before ending the day roughly flat.
Bond prices turned lower after seeing initial strength but bounced back near the unchanged line as the day progressed. Subsequently, the yield on the benchmark ten-year note, which moves opposite of its price, inched up by less than a basis point to 1.527 percent.
The early pullback by treasuries came following the release of a report from the Labor Department showing first-time claims for U.S. unemployment benefits fell to a four-month low in the week ended March 6th.
